Bank of Hawaii

Patty Van Kuran

Summary of Services:

  • Residential Lending

Experience:

“If you had asked me if I was going to be a “banker” when I grew up I would have given you a resounding NO!”.  But reflecting back, it now seems like it was meant to be.  “I had a mutual fund portfolio at age 10, a Roth IRA at age 18, always maxed out my 401K match and grew up reading the WSJ and Money magazine.”  Patty Van Kuran started her professional career at Bank of Hawaii Human Resources in 2004 and has been an Executive Loan Officer at the Kahala Residential Loan Center since 2007. She has a passion for providing exceptional customer service and takes time to understand her clients’ needs in order to find the best mortgage solution. From first-time homebuyers to investors to homebuilders, she treats each transaction as if it were her own, always keeping her clients’ best interest as her top priority.

In 2008 Patty received the Mortgage Division’s award for outstanding achievement and in 2009 she received the Bank of Hawaii award for excellence in customer service and was named a top mortgage producer. After a year hiatus in her home town of Palo Alto, CA where she gained experience at Opes Advisors, a mortgage bank and wealth management company, she returned to the Bank in 2012 and achieved Chairman’s Circle distinction for top sales in 2013 and 2014.  She makes giving back a priority, serving as a volunteer for the Bank’s Employee Volunteer Program and a mortgage educator for the Bank’s Smart Money Seminars and the Hawaii Home Ownership Center.

Patty graduated cum laude from Pomona College in Claremont, CA with a Bachelors in Psychology and Media Studies where she also played on the varsity volleyball team. In her free time she enjoys running, yoga, anything outdoors and spending time with her family.
