Norma Kop

Norma Kop, has always wanted and enjoyed working with older adults and serves as a Program Specialist with the Hawaii State Department of Health and a Volunteer Coordinator of Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) Hawaii. She has experience with working with the DOH – Developmental Disabilities Division, serving people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. She was certified as a Supports Intensity Scale assessor, that allowed her to officially assess the level of care required for individuals with I/DD, which helped determine their own budget for services and support in the community. As a Baby Boomer, she has taken the initiative to learn about Medicare, including fraud and abuse, and shares the knowledge with others in order to protect them and the larger community.
