A practicing lawyer right after graduating, Madeleine M.V. Young has an extensive background and travel experience with her career in law. Moving from Hawaii to Los Angeles, she has worked at various firms in Beverly Hills, Sherman Oaks, and Century City, all while starting a family. Upon moving back to Hawaii, she returned to the practice of law in 2010 as a staff attorney at the Legal Aid Society of Hawaii, primarily litigating on behalf of indigent persons in federal bankruptcy court. Her responsibilities don’t end there, she also started and oversees a self-help clinic that serves low-income clients, and also advocates at the Hawaii State Legislature on consumer protection issues. Her passion for helping people with difficult financial and legal matters is what fuels her to juggle her many responsibilities. In 2013, she joined Damon Key where she now litigates on behalf of families in disputes that arise both before and after a family member passes away. Her services also include creating estate plans for her clients, and assists families with guardianship and conservatorship proceedings to assist a particular family member in need. Despite her hectic schedule, Young still manages to find time for her family and cherishes the travels and memories they make abroad.
