Our Vision: To provide a holistic approach in caring for our kupuna for a healthy and meaningful aging process. As Hawaii’s elderly population continues to surpass the national average, we realized that there was a growing number of seniors in need of assistance but were not ready to move to a care facility. Although care facilities are available, some seniors still wanted to age in place. Their home became a source of comfort and joy. ‍ Kupuna Care Hawaii was founded in 2009 with the simple goal to keep Hawaii’s aging community where they are happiest: at home. Kupuna Care Hawaii is a family owned and operated business with two generations of health care experience. We promise to treat each senior who joins our Kupuna Care Hawaii family with compassion, integrity and respect.

Experience:

Diana is the President and Owner of Kupuna Care Hawaii. Diana’s story began as a young child growing up in a home surrounded by kūpuna. Her grandmother, Flora, was one of the first to open a Care Home out in Moanalua Valley in the late 60’s. Diana’s mother then took over the Care Home when she was in Elementary school and Diana would “talk story”, play games, and help prepare meals for the kūpuna. The Care Home residents would come and go over the years, but they were like family, each with their own personality and lesson to teach. Diana was inspired by her mother and grandmother, both Care Home Operators, and decided to pursue a degree in Nursing with an interest in Geriatrics. In the meantime, Diana and her parents opened Kupuna Care Hawaii in 2009. When Diana graduated from Hawaii Pacific University with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2011, she took over the family business and history was made.
