Patty Van Kuran

First Hawaiian Bank

Summary of Services:

  • Residential Mortgaging

“If you had asked me if I was going to be a “banker” when I grew up I would have given you a resounding NO!”.  But reflecting back, it now seems like it was meant to be.  “I had a mutual fund portfolio at age 10, a Roth IRA at age 18, always maxed out my 401K match and grew up reading the WSJ and Money magazine.”  Patty Van Kuran joined First Hawaiian Bank in November 2017 as Vice President and Private Banking Mortgage Loan Officer. She has a passion for providing exceptional customer service and takes time to understand her clients’ short and long term needs in order to find the best mortgage solution. From first-time homebuyers to investors to homebuilders, she treats each transaction as if it were her own, always keeping her clients’ best interest as her top priority.

Her career in banking started at Bank of Hawaii in 2004, where she most recently held the position of Vice President and Executive Loan Officer at the Kahala Residential Loan Center and achieved the Chairman’s Circle distinction for top sales every year since 2013. In her first full year at First Hawaiian Bank she earned the top sales by dollar volume for Mortgage Banking.

Born and raised in Palo Alto, CA, Patty graduated cum laude from Pomona College with a Bachelors in Psychology and Media Studies and played varsity volleyball. She makes giving back a priority, serving on the Young Leader’s Board at Make-A-Wish Hawaii and as a mortgage educator for the Hawaii Home Ownership Center. In her free time she enjoys yoga, and anything outdoors including running, cycling, swimming and spending time with her daughter Georgia.
