Lori Lau, Director of Lanakila Meals on Wheels continues to serve in the social service industry with over ten years of expertise. Meals on Wheels provides home delivered meals to homebound seniors and individuals with disabilities. Also provided through Meals on Wheels are senior activity programs and meals at four Kupuna Wellness Centers.
Food has always played an important role in Lori’s life. While growing up, her parents owned the Mongolian Bar-B-Que restaurants and growing up in a kitchen Lori understood the power of food. She says, food is part of celebrating. Food is comfort. Food is our culture and identifies us. And without access to nutritious food, our bodies don’t function properly. The example of her parents feeding and taking care of people through food influenced Lori to follow in their footsteps.
